Jayu Canton
The Jayu Canton is an independent trading hub at the incenter of Solarea, Rundisar, and U'Nafara. Traders come and go with (or sometimes against) the push and pull of Ligera and Oscura. The island has everything you could ever want, if you can afford it.

Geography:
Jayu is an island that operates as a great port and trading hub. The island sits in the middle of The Broken Sea, a body of water that ebbs and flows with the will of Ligera and Oscura. It serves as the lifeline for the island and allows knowledgeable travelers and traders to come and go throughout the year. The Canton Navy is known for using these changing currents to their advantage to maintain control of the trade routes. The island itself is predominantly urban - almost all essentials for survival must be imported from the mainland countries. This occasionally leads to harsh winters for locals who cannot afford to stock up on goods during the harvest seasons.

Government:
Jayu is best defined as Merchant Republic. The Mercantile Board of Representatives is elected by powerful guild and artisan societies every five years from their qualified members. Life-long political careers are not uncommon for guild administrators and wealthy merchant families.

Major Landmarks and Cities:
A secret exclusive nightclub whose building is unremarkable from the outside. The only way to gain access is to be chosen by the security guard. Hundreds wait every night hoping to be selected. No one has been able to deduce the criteria for being picked. There is only one rule - you have to be wearing all black.

Jayu Law Enforcement:
The primary enforcement authority for the Canton is the Greyshore Company, a private security company that has been contracted by the Mercantile Board of Representatives for the last fifty years. Rumor has it that Greyshore members are more than willing to look the other way with a proper "donation," leading to Jayu Canton for being known for its robust black market scene and pirate bars.
