Solarean Adventures LARP Lore

Thera Barrens

To the west of the Lithian Plains sits a roaming desert with numerous mesas strewn across the land. There exist a few scattered territories, and nomadic lizardfolk tribes. The tribes move with the seasons when the land is more forgiving and contend with hardy large beasts. The lizardfolk often prioritize strength in numbers, utilizing the bones and carrion of their hunt to nourish their tribe.

The Oasis

On the Western edge of the Plains, in the river valley where the main waterway forks, lies The Oasis: a collection of insular tribes that work and defend the area together. There, separated by water, sit three walled settlements of A-frame, grass-roofed structures surrounded by irrigated farmland and grazing fields of cattle, horses, and other herd animals. In the distance to the Southwest, Mountains dotted the skyline beyond a bare stretch of desert. Oral history tells the tale of three tribes who unified together to defeat a dragon that had been causing havoc nearby. Inspired by the strength of their teamwork, the three remained unified to hold and defend the resource-rich territory from other factions.

The Oasis is ruled by a council of nine elders, three from each of the original clans (the Torwyn, the Urgio, and the Heyat). Clan members can often be identified from a distance by the use of their clan’s colors in their dress: golden yellow for the Torwyn, earthy green for the Urgio, and rusty red for the Heyat Clan. Oasian citizens show favor with woven bands worn on their wrists and all members have a woven band in the three colors of the unified clans, plus blue to symbolize the river that unites them. Other bands are collected and worn on the off hand and may symbolize alliances, accomplishments, and/or familial affiliations.

The culture of the Oasis prioritizes the good of the collective, with each citizen encouraged to develop their strengths in order to determine how they may best serve the community in adulthood. Warrior service is mandatory for all able-bodied young adults, as during the annual Raiding Season in the summer, the Oasis and its resources is often under attack by other tribes. After one's mandatory five years of enlistment are over, Oasian citizens meet with their elder representatives to determine new career options.

Rainbow Spires

A series of mountains that overlook a section of the north eastern edge of the desert, their tips shaded with rich hues of red, orange, green, purple, and blue. Clans of fire-haired elves, calling themselves the Arkal, raid out into the desert from their secret holds along the cliffs and canyons near the foot of the mountains.
